The aim of the project is to respond to the need of the elderly user and to design a product reflecting the struggle for independence within the domestic environment. In particular the project’s aim is to design for restricted strength in elderly users and promote use of products such as the kettle, teapot and jug which have become difficult to lift, pour and hold.
The three rules which directed the design are as follows
A. Independence. The product must promote the user to be dependent on one’s self.
B. Ability. The product must be usable by a range of users beneath and on the scale of inclusively.
C. Dignity. The product must be aesthetically pleasing and remove the stigma which is attached to the use of aid products currently available on the market.
