A traditional form of social dining. In a fast paced society we have lost the importance of taking time over lunch and other important meals. This is evident especially in the workplace where users may lead hectic lifestyles which will prevent them from:
A. Eating healthy and organic food
B. Taking time over food preparation
This concept aims to help the user combine social dining and healthy eating in the workplace. This simple, functional product aims to bring people together, by connecting people over the office through social dining.
The bento box uses a combination of herb garden and thermal heater to allow the user to eat and grow their food at work. Through the use of a soil compressor the first bento box compartment can be used to grow food at work or home. Additionally the bottom compartment is a storage box for food. This pot allows the food to be heated by utilising available hot water such as that from a kettle, to heat the food in a double vacuum installed in the compartment.
A. Use the bento box as a form of social dining or by yourself as a personal daily lunch holder.
B. Agree with 2 or more colleagues on the chosen ingredients for the day.
C. Use the bento box to bring food easily into the workplace. Use the bottom pot to store food and heat up if necessary by using a supply of hot water, from an available source such as a kettle. The innovative heating bowl heats food with a supply of hot water.
D. Use the top pot for growing herbs which can be used in the lunch. This can either be left at work or carried home safely with the use of the soil compressor.
E. Enjoy your meal and additional fresh herbs with the company of others or by yourself.
